I was Googling BV and all of a sudden I was back in Baie Verte where I lived from 1960-1967. I was a teacher at the school and my then husband Jack was at Advocate. My daughters were born in BV. I recognize the names of several of my pupils. I am so relieved that they survived my first years teaching. I knew that there was a reunion planned but I was working in Sub-saharan Africa. So good to remember the good times. I miss Newfoundland. Hugs to my "little ones".

Was born at Baie Verte and did my schooling there. Had a service station business there and was very pleased with the amount of support I received from the people of the Baie Verte peninsula, I thank you people for that. I gave them the first ever break on gas prices and should return and set up another filling station. It is my home and I have a lot of fond memories from there.

Great site. Great to see the pictures and the heritage site. I lived in Baie Verte from 1949 to 1964 and was wondering if anyone that reads this would remember me or my family. I have visited a few times and have enjoyed the museum. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2010.

My goodness what a place to visit. I was in Baie Verte several years ago to play Volleyball with my high school. I stayed there with the Drover's. I remember Greg Drover their son who showed around. I only visited for a long weekend but what a time I had there. What a beautiful place I do hope to go back there again someday. Take care and God Bless you all. I have wonderful memories of your town.

Your website is awesome. I remember two great years spent in Baie Verte 68 to 70 at the M.J. Boylen Hospital as a nurse. Would love to hear from anyone in Baie Verte who lived there in the years I was there. It sure is great to see the photos and read about how things have changed. The last time I was there was 1974. Hope to visit sometime in the near future. Blessings to all in Baie Verte.

Hi everyone. looking through the guest book at a lot of familiar names sure bring back a lot of old memories as i came to Baie Verte June of 1963. I retired here and still live here. Sylvia and myself have a lot of good memories of friends and the people that passed through our life. We especially remember the old days we refer to as the ADVOCATE DAYS.

Hi all. It was nice to go back to Baie Verte this past summer for the Come Home Year celebrations. I got to see some old friends and schoolmates again. It's been a long time for sure, but nonetheless a huge part of me remains in BV, and always will. I have very fond memories of growing up there. Best regards to all who still reside in Baie Verte. Thanks for the fine organization of the Come Home Year Celebrations. Give yourselves a nice pat on the back. Take care all.

Roger and I lived in BV in the l960s. We lived in a trailer, then in the new apt. bldg, and then in the new house up on the hill. Roger was a town councillor when Bill Eaton was mayor. I helped out with kindergarten in the new school. The new hospital was built after we left. Pierce Budgell and Mildred were neighbours in the apt. We were there because of the mine with folks from Matheson. Ont. Be nice to go back and see what a difference time makes.

I only got there for the Friday night Baie Vista bash and fireworks and then the dance Saturday night so i can only imagine what a great week it was. Sounds like i missed a lot of old friends but was great seeing the ones that were there. Baie verte still knows how to put on a good party, with some great people who has stuck her out through thick and thin. Thats why i'll always come back there and call it home. See ya next year!

Thank you to all the organizing committee for a job well done. Your efforts and hard work shone through in every aspect. The memories of reconnecting with old acquaintances and friends and making new ones will be treasured always. I'm proud to come from Baie Verte, but even more proud that so many of you 'held on' to the town when times were tough and we all left to find work. You stayed and hung in and made it what it is today.

I just got back to Moncton from the come home year celebrations. It was absolutely fantastic. The hard work of the committee shone through in every event every day. You have done well and we thank you very much. We stayed at the Dorset Inn and let me tell you that you have to go a long ways if at all to find a place that looks after you like those people. It was a fantastic place. It was so nice to see old friends and make new ones.
