Mayor's Message

Welcome to the Town of Baie Verte.

For many years, our community has faced its share of challenges. Like many mining communities, Baie Verte has experienced difficult times as our economy changed and opportunities became more limited. Through it all, however, the spirit of our community has remained strong.

Today, we stand at an exciting point in our history. With significant mining development expected in the years ahead, Baie Verte has an opportunity to enter a new era of growth and prosperity. The economic benefits that come with this development can help us strengthen our town, improve our infrastructure and services, and build a modern, vibrant community that all residents can be proud to call home.

But our future will not be built by mining alone. It will be built by the people of Baie Verte. We are fortunate to have countless volunteers who give their time and energy to make our community a better place. Their dedication is a reflection of the pride that exists in our town.

We also have a new council that is eager, energetic, and committed to moving Baie Verte forward. Together, with our residents, businesses, volunteers, community organizations, and industry partners, I believe we have an opportunity to accomplish great things.

Our town has a proud history, particularly as a mining community. Now, we have the opportunity to build on that history and create an even stronger future for the generations that follow.

There is a renewed sense of optimism in Baie Verte, and I am excited about what lies ahead. With hard work, cooperation, and a shared vision for our community, I believe we will see Baie Verte prosper once again.
